Draco stood by the entrance to the hallway, waiting for the right moment to approach Harry. He'd promised Neville, and for some apparent reason, also Charlie Weasley, that he was going to go and talk to Harry.
They'd never committed to each other, but Draco thought since it'd been so long, it was an unspoken rule they were together. But then Harry decided to do a big show to make Draco jealous, and that was ridiculous. As if Draco got jealous.
Then why are you here?
Draco groaned at himself and reached into his robe's pocket. He caught a glimpse of Harry chatting with someone and decided to slowly approach them. Instead of going directly to Harry, Draco lingered by the bar - right in Harry's point of vision.
He felt Harry straighten up before even witnessing it. At a moment's notice, Harry was next to him.
"Why are you here?"
Weren't those just the words Draco had said to himself?
Draco shrugged. "You know why."
"No, I don't know. I can make an assumption, but I don't actually know."
"Care to share your thoughts about it then, Potter?"
Harry rolled his eyes. "You're jealous, and you want to stake your claim."
"Would you mind rephrasing so I come across as less of a… well, a jealous monster?"
"Aren't you a jealous monster?"
Draco sighed. This conversation was going nowhere. He needed to get Harry back on his good side. He reached into his pocket and handed Harry a snow globe.
"What's this?" Harry asked.
The image inside the snow globe was of snowy pine trees in a winter landscape with a colourful sunset sky and mountains in the background. It was a pretty accurate depiction of the first winter trip they had taken ages ago.
"Do you remember?" Draco asked.
"You were complaining about how cold it was the entire time."
"I wanted you to make me warm," replied Draco.
Harry closed his eyes as if he, too, was remembering the night they'd shared together. "I miss that."
"We can have that again. You just had to ask."
Harry glared at Draco. "You could have asked, too."
"Very well," drawled Draco. "Be my boyfriend then, Potter."
Harry swayed a little. "I'm a little drunk. How do I know this isn't just a hallucination."
Draco wrapped his arms around Harry's waist in front of hundreds of guests at the gala and dragged Harry out of the room. How Gryffindorish, he thought.
"Let's go home, and when you wake up, I'll make sure you remember it all."
