"Excuse me!" Neville nearly snapped at Charlie, who had tugged on him so hard. "Are you out of your mind?"
"Are you okay?" Charlie asked, his voice soft and worried as he held onto Neville. His hands were steady, keeping Neville from falling.
Neville looked up at him, his face growing warm. "Y-yeah, I'm fine," he said quickly, though the feeling of Charlie's hands on him made it hard to think straight.
For a second, he wondered if Charlie could hear how fast his heart was beating. Was that just worry in Charlie's eyes-or something more?
"If you'll excuse me, I need to do something urgently."
Charlie smirked, his eyes glinting with mischief. "What's the matter? Did you accidentally order sexy lingerie and have it delivered to the wrong house as a Christmas present?"
"Why does it sound like that's an experience you've had?" Neville gently chuckled.
Charlie threw his head back and laughed, the sound warm and unrestrained. "I can neither confirm nor deny that accusation."
Neville shook his head, trying not to smile. "No, I just need to use the Floo to call a friend. It's urgent."
Charlie's grin turned sly. "Would that friend happen to be Draco Malfoy?"
"What?" he asked, blinking at Charlie, completely thrown once again.
