So I got a job at Deadline in Parkway Plaza and I'm fucking EXCITED about it!!
I'll get to be the opener. AND I'll get to play my own CDs in the store. AND lots of other things!! ^.^
I came across it totally by accident. I've known about that store for a while, of course. And I had filled out like 4 applications for other stores already, making a little circuit around the mall. When I came to Deadline I decided I'd go in and shop, take a break, ya know? Because I know the place is a small business and figured they weren't hiring. So I struck up casual conversation with the only employee there/manager/part owner. A guy Dusty and I have talked to in the store and out at the bar several times. Long story short, we chatted for a bit, I filled out an ap (which I doubt was even necessary) and then he's like, "Ok, so can you come in Monday?" and I'm sitting there thinking 'was this really that easy?!!?' So I'm really excited about that, I hope it sticks!
Later on this evening Spencer's Gifts called me, too, for an interview. I'm going to go to that Friday night (actually it's cutting it a little too close to my shoot so I think I'll call back and reschedule), just in case anything happens with Deadline between now and Monday. But I'm sure Deadline is where I'll be!!
How rad! I get to keep my hair, don't have to hide my piercings, can dress in whatever, never have to come in too early or stay too late, and bring in my own CDs! Later on I'll ask about discounts (I have a feeling he'd let me get stuff at cost!).... YESS!!!!
