Pirates 3

Hmm, I think it was 30 minutes too long. It was definitely a lot of fun and Barbosa had most of the great lines/scenes through the film, but there were parts that just dragged on too long. They had so many plot lines running I felt like I should have studied before showing up.

I also didn't like the end. Hooray for sadness?!?!

Did you stay till the end of the credits? If not, or actually even if you did, the Wikipedia entry might clear up some stuff about the authors' intent (no explanation of why they thought the audience was supposed to be mindreaders).

Are you referring to how she stays faithful for 10 years?

More than that. Since she stays faithful for ten years, the curse is broken and Will gets to come home for real (symbolized by the green flash). This is why Davy Jones was so pissed at Calypso for not being there, as the curse was not broken for him. Might have been nice if they'd left in the scenes explaining this, huh?

Yeah, I had no flipping clue. I had to pee so bad after waiting nearly 3 hours I got up and left.

Thanks for clearing that mess up.

No problem. I am really astonished by what a crappy job they did of making that clear.

I didn't pay attention to that whole bit. Did I miss anything important? Just seemed to be a teaser for a part 4.

(But I only saw 1 once, and never saw part 2.)

Also, Orlando and Keira are believed to be unlikely to show up for a fourth movie, though Johnny is game.

I've read Johnny goes into withdrawal after filming as Jack. This is apparently his favorite character to play and hates leaving.

Yeah, I read an interview where he said if they stopped doing movies, he'd have to dress up and nance around the house for his kids.

HAHA! Yeah, his kids. I'd bet money he'd have to do it for himself. ;)
