So Morgan (the cat who was granted temporary asylum in my my apartment from the war-torn ravages of her own invaded domicile) just woke me up at 6 AM on a Saturday by peeing on the couch I was sleeping on. Why was I sleeping on the couch? Cause she peed on my bed sometime yesterday as well. Roz keeps mentioning a UTI, but she managed to make it to her litter box all day Thursday and most of Friday, so I think Morgana's just being a little bitch for some reason.
So now I'm up at 6 on a Saturday, unable to fall back asleep because all my blankets AND places of sleep have cat piss on them. Guess I'll just twiddle my thumbs till I can wake Roz up and get the cleaning stuff she's got and my steam cleaner from her to get the smell of cat out of my apartment. This is why I hate animals. Yeah I'm good with 'em, and for about 85% of the time I adore them, but when they piss me off good Lord do they piss me off.
Enough about that, what else has been going on? Roz and I had our 3 month anniversary on the 31st. Unfortunately couldn't celebrate in the fancy out-on-the-town style I woulda liked, but had fun anyway (Of course, it was Halloween so that helped :p) She's got her new job so our paths cross less and less these days, but them's the breaks in the working world I guess.
Speaking of jobs, hopefully (knock on wood, salt over the shoulder) Border's should be calling soon. Talked to the HR manager at Huebner Oaks and he sounded interested, but my real hope lies in the Quarry where I've been talking to the Store manager. Due to how Border's takes its applications Huebner Oaks has to pass on me before Quarry can officially look at my application and schedule an interview, but I've been told if they receive my app it will definitly be looked at. Expecting the worst (why does responsible = pessimist?) I'm going to apply at The Red Balloon as well. It's a Children's bookstore on Broadway and while my knowledge is a bit rusty I did spend a year in the Children's section at Border's in MI so all it'll take is some brushing up. The classics stay the classics, all I need to do is learn what's hot now.
It's coming up on Christmas soon. Don't really wanna think on that, but I was informed that my brother (the older, full brother Shawn) will be joining my father and stepmother for Christmas here in SA. Me vs. Father with Stepmother as outside observer was fine, now the balance has tilted in favor of the axis. Hopefully I can get my Uncle to come up from Corpus giving me a much needed ally. Two generations of younger siblings vs the older ones...that'd be a Christmas brawl to remember.
Goddamn my apartment smells like cat piss. I can't detect the odor of such under normal circumstances (my sense of smell is shot) but this is permeating my nostrils. Morgana LeFay, menya malenkaya koshka, such a tiny little ball of evil.
If you don't care about sports I recommend you skip this paragraph and save yourself some time :) The Red Wings 9 game winning streak ended on Thursday. I was crushed, but it was to Edmonton whom I am still in awe of from my earliest days of watching hockey, so I guess it's okay. My Wings are still #1 in the NHL so I'll be okay. That was Thursday tho, this is Saturday and that means only one thing...College Football!!! First the 5 undefeateds who all technically still have a shot at the Rose Bowl...
1) Texas and Baylor...whomp, stomp, nothing more really needs to be said about this game. Vince Young against the Baylor D? At least another 350 yards offense from Vinnie alone, 250 passing 100+ rushing is my prediction. 45-10 Texas.
2) The force of nature that is USC plays Stanford today. I hate to ever admit to Janel that I think her alma mater is good, but since she doesn't read LJ I can do so here. They'll win today, by 11 is my prediction. It won't be a Heisman helping game for either Bush or Leinart (they'll post their average numbers but nothing brilliant) but it won't cost 'em anything in the voting either. 35-24 USC.
3) Bama and Mississipi State...nothing really to say here. Crimson Tide ownage led by Brodie Croyle, it's gonna be a rout. Infinity-10 Alabama
4) UCLA and Arizona...more Pac 10 infighting. I imagine this'll go very similar to the USC-Arizona game earlier this season, with Arizona taking an early lead only to lose it. UCLA has one of the greatest comeback offenses I've ever seen (The Stanford game!?!? Holy shit), so even if they're down going into the 4th I wouldn't count them out. Speaking of the Stanford game, I can only hope tht by some miracle the USC-Stanford game unfolds the same way as that one...without the 4th quarter comeback for the Trojans. 35-31 UCLA.
5) The game of all games today. #3 Virginia Tech and #5 Miami in the biggest ranking matchup of the year since #2 Texas beat #4 Ohio State (Yeah it's not really relevant but I like seeing Texas win and seeing OSU lose so I had to mention it...fuck you Buckeyes!) If VT wants a shot at the Rose Bowl they're gonna hafta beat their archnemesis of the ACC-Coastal. This'll be one helluva matchup even if I don't care for either team...some fine football. 17-14 Miami.
Now for the rest of the games I care about (which is only 4 cause Michigan is off this week)...
1) The Red Raiders and Aggies square off for Big 12 South 2nd place today :p Tech's coming off a huge win against Baylor, and being a monster passing team against the worst pass defense in the Big 12 there's no way for them to lose unless Reggie McNeal can outscore Tech, something I just don't see. 31-28 Texas Tech
2) Volunteers and Fighting Irish...a great non-conference rivalry game being played today. Tennessee doesn't have the dominance they usually possess, and Notre Dame is looking more and more like the Irish of olde. Brady Quinn will be the star of this game, throwing wherever he wants. 24-10 Notre Dame.
3) Wisconsin and Penn State are battling for the Big 10 Championship and I'm not sure who's going to win this one. This is gonna be some tough football, maybe the 2nd hardest fought game of the day (behind VT and Miami) I like the Badgers in this because...well I dunno, going with my gut here. 27-24 Wisconsin
4) Iowa and Northwestern. This game doesn't mean anything to the BCS rankings, but it's a Big 10 game any fan of that conference will care about. Wildcats and Hawkeyes are a staple of the B10, and even if neither of their performances are bowl worthy this year, their impact on the conference can never be overstated. 14-10 Northwestern.
Whew...okay so that was my college football summary. Odds are I'm not going to be even close on any of those predictions, as Brendan will probably rub in :p, but fuck it, I like makin' em! Okay I think that's a long enough post for now...Roz just called and is on her way with all the cleaning supplies so BOO that i have to clean but YAY that a sexy woman is bringing me the stuff to do so :)
