back in az

For those I never called back over break... sorry about that. I took my break and was damn selfish about it. I was thinking about you all I just needed some me time.

Am now back in AZ, where it is surprisingly chilly out (for AZ, keep in mind). It's been in the 40s and 50s at night and in the morning. Brr. I have lost my Minnesota blood.

Classes started this week, a time of great inspiration and energy before the reality of time-consuming homework and drudgery at your job wears down the joy of learning. But for now I'm happy in my classes and have a million projects running around in my head to start on. Three classes this time around, let's hope it works out. :P

Am currently figuring out my internship for this summer, to take place in Tucson, where Sean lives. Fall-back is back in Minnesota at the Science Museum (not so much a fall-back as why can't Sean and the SMM be in the same city???).

The great joy of this semester is no work and no classes on Friday. It means my Monday-Thursday are pretty hellish, but oh well. The chance to sleep in a little and get a good jump on homework is enough for me.

Sean started taking a night class this semester, am very happy for him. It's a sculpture class as he is now on the road to getting a BA in art. It's only met twice so far but he's excited about the projects lined up. He's working more hours at the studio too so this semester we're both busier than normal.

Am sort of looking for a car. In the same sort of way as I am following all rainbows to their end, looking for that pot of gold to pay for said car, car insurance, and gas.

I got a CD alarm clock and now I can listen to Charles Mingus in the morning. Have discovered if I listen to music with words I end up singing that first song all day and annoying everyone. So I have moved on to jazz and classical and songs not in english. It's nice to lay still and listen for a few minutes before getting up. All part of the "Relax, Marin" routine I'm trying to establish. Cooking is also on that list, of which I am doing everynight. To sample: garlic rosemary chicken one night, chicken with pineapples and black bean sauce, salmon salad with arugula and citrus, Cajun shrimp with bacon wrapped steak (okay, Sean helped with that one).... oh yes, there is actual cooking going on.

It's almost 10. I've to clean the bathroom and kitchen on the list and my bedroom needs to be organized as I haven't unpacked everything yet. Who knows what's going on this weekend, I assume Sean is coming up either tonight or tomorrow but there's nothing really planned. A party Saturday, I guess, but that's about it. Homework. The usual.
