Yes, I'm still living at home. With the parents.

I bought this 486/586 computer at a thrift store for $5, and when I brought it home it worked. I immediately installed my adlib soundcard I have bought 3 years earlier in the hopes of one day building a true dos gaming machine. Well, turns out it's a 386 is crap for games, and can't even run Raptor. It runs Blake Stone, but not at a playable pace. Oh, and forget Doom. Oh and I never realized the Adlib wasn't supported as much as the Soundblaster in the later days of DOS.

Bottome line- I had tons of fun playing TUBULAR WORLDS. Besides being the coolest videogame name ever, its also fun to say.

Then I discovered DOSBOX today, a program where you can play games in a DOS shell on you modern computer. It's no substitue for the real thing and has lag making many games unplayable, but it sure helped me waste about half the day reminding me of games I played 12 to 14 years ago- the first computer games I ever played.

Nostalgia of those early 90s dos games and that awesome soundcard music. Expect dos gaming-rig tutorials on my website soon.

I also managed to apply for another job today at St Pete College. I will worm my way in somehow.

Oh and you'll love this. The woman who was sooo excited about me being an animator and "not a programmer" has changed her mind (I called her up a few days ago) and now says she wants a programmer.

Thanks lady, for sitting in on my interview to tell me about another position and making me turn down a job that I could have had for a job you promise me, then "change your mind" 2 weeks later. I probably should have mentioned something about how not I have NEITHER job thanks to her enthusiasm, but I just said "Thanks. Talk to you later."

But today my fortune cookie said "In the middle of every difficulty lies oppurtunity."
