Well, I stopped calling Daktronics every week after they kept telling me to be patient.
I scored an interview with St.Pete College a few weeks ago. Oddly enough, they basically told me they thought according to my resume I would be really good for another position that opened up. (I had applied for Computer Support Specialist) They were really excited about my resume. They told me that they were "Really really excited about getting an animator on the team" becuase they said that all thier other technology design specialists came from a programming background. Not that I have anything against programmers, but for some reason that felt really good to hear. For once having an uncommon major that I had to work my ass off for, and stick with it despite people telling me its worthless or that it will never get me a decent paying job, seemed to be paying off well in distinguishing myself from the rest of the crowd- something I'm always trying to do.
They're supposed to contact me again. I hate waiting. Especially when I have no paycheck.
I really dont want to start applying to retail jobs like I did when I first came down here. Those are even impossible to get! My patience is really wearing thin.
On the flipside, I've been exposing myself to lots of new software. Dreamweaver is amazing! I never thought I would have a handle on web development- but ironically I already got hired to build a site!
I was doing free videography work of my friend's band and also did a photoshoot of them. Awesome how doing free stuff to learn can hook you up with freelance work!
