Hellos, hellos, hellos. :D I had planned to post my long archived summer Minnesota pictures, but opened the file, saw them all unnamed and unconverted...and suddenly, I had no energy.

Let's see. What have I been up to?

Today I watched the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode where Lieutenant Yar gets death-slapped by a digitally-deficient, ( Read more... )

music, manga, my little ponies, class

Ahhh. I don't think it entirely warranted plastic wrap. Yes, there was a slight orgy in the middle; yes, serial killer teddy bear freak...but still. I've seen worse in Ceres: Celestial Legend and that's shojo, unwrapped, and for older teens.

I just have one thing to say to this talk of things not warranting plastic wrap and being relatively tame:

Arm of Kannon

That is all.

Just kidding. Like I could not elaborate on that one.

Arm of Kannon is fucked up. Seriously. Every volume is plastic wrapped, and I think the majority of characters had their clothes torn off somewhere around volume two and have still (at volume six) not redressed. Also, this is one of those fics where people like to morph into giant man-disembowing monsters and sometimes eat people with the tops of their heads.

And don't even get me started on the actual arm of Kannon. It's middle finger is a penis. And there are lots of eyes.

Oh, and the brother/sister duo that star it have some serious incest issues to work out.

I had a vivid flashback to the time when I leafed through one of your AOK volumes. Intriguing.

Why is its middle finger a penis? Uh..is the arm...male? Or is it more of a symbolic thing? Haha

As far as I can tell, the whole issue of the arm is a misunderstanding of Hinduism (much as so many of those things with battling Angels are misunderstandings of Christianity) where the "Kannon" (should probably be spelled with a 'c') is a religious diety and the arm is magical because of that. Because of it's relation to Hinduism, gender is pretty much up in the air. They really aim towards androgyny as far as godheads go.

I'm pretty sure the Kannon is supposed to be a representation of Shiva, god of destruction (and dance) who is often symbolized with penises(peni?). My favorite instance of this is the offering Shivites make when they pour milk over a large upright black stone, which is many times depicted as having sprouted from Shivas head spouting unidentified white fluids.

So the arm once belonged to a deity?

LOL, Shiva, cool. Isn't Shiva half-male, half-female? Not in the hermaphrodite sense, but literally: left side male, right side female.

Haha, thanks, some vivid imagery in your last sentence.
