I wore new shoes to campus today and they cut my foot. I thought my pain receptors were exaggerating it until I looked down and saw the blood. Somebody remind me why we wear shoes again, please. Here I was thinking it was to protect our feet from getting cut up. Maybe they used to do that back in the days of worn leather and, um, wood.
I saw Boys Don't Cry the other day. I've come to the decision that hate crime movies just aren't my thing. I mean, you watch the movie, and for an hour or two you have to watch dumb people do stupid things for no good reason, after which you have that feeling you've just learned a valuable lesson, except you already knew that lesson and it doesn't really come up anyways. Yes, transgendered people shouldn't be raped and killed. I knew this. There was no spreading of knowledge going on here. Maybe that's not the case for everybody, but do the perpetrators of this crap watch movies about it? Somehow I doubt it. Anyway.
Is there another movie about transgendered people though? Cause I wanted to see the movie after I heard something about a hotel scene that was supposed to be outrageously surprising (enter the transgendered component) but that wasn't in this movie at all. I think I got the stuff I've heard mixed up. I think in the movie I was actually expecting to see it was a girl who turned out to be genetically male, not the other way around. Does this sound familiar to anybody? I think I'll look it up on Amazon or something.
In other news a scanlation site I go to sometimes now has a section for manga centered on cats. Apparently there are enough comics that fall into this category for it to be it's own section. It's called "KITTINS." I don't think the spelling error was intentional.
