So, finally have court tomorrow at the bright and shiny hour of 0830 in Ann Arbor, which is an hour away with no traffic. My car's acting up (transmission, oh joy!) so I was planning on riding down there with my lawyer.
Yeah.
Got a phone call from his office today. He's got 4 cases up in Flint in the morning, and they can't be moved. Of course, my court was closed today, so we don't know if it could have been moved or not. Normally it wouldn't have been an issue, but because the court didn't send my lawyer a notice about the court date, I'm getting screwed. Luckily I emailed him last week about it, but seriously, guys. WTF.
So I get to go for my pretrial and arraignment alone, or I wait until 1 pm (he has a case down there at 1) and risk having a bench warrant issued.
Basically, I just have to go and plead not guilty, then find out if I have a bond or not - then I post it.
I *really* don't want to do this alone, but I don't want a warrant issued for my arrest even more, so I'm going to have to.
And to add to my stress, Dad was joking around and basically being a jackass, telling me to loosen up. Um, hello, you *do* realize I could hypothetically be going to jail tomorrow, right? WHAT THE FUCK.
This really sucks.
