So I had a good meeting in town with Rev. Parker from Stalybridge going over sermon writing, liturgy and orders of service. He says I write a very good, personal sermon and have a relaxed, approachable, dynamic way of preaching that really reaches out.

I had a very succesful meeting over lunch today with Rev Andrew Parker from Stalybridge Church. He suggests that as he is in charge of the training course for Weddings and Funerals that I do a few evening's study with him and he can sign me off as qualified to take those servicse as he is 100% sure I know exactly what I am doing and if anyone asks ( Read more... )

Soo am now on the Manchester District Preacing Plan - hurrah - with Local Appointment at Manchester Cross Street, Gorton "Brookfield" and Denton. Just need to start coming up with service ideas - been a while since I last led worship in August 2007 - and also find all my books, my hood gown etc etc.I guess I can re use all my old Wakefield sermons ( Read more... )

I am so happy and so excited. My first service as a Lay Preacher has gone wonderfully well. I was so scared and nervous before I started it, but at about two minutes to three I had a quick pray and when I go onto the rostrum to start the service it just happened.
