I love the U of I library so much more than the Rice library. Maybe it's just the way most giant state universities' libraries are. I get a "Courtesy Card" with seemingly no downsides just for living in Urbana. I've had numerous things overdue for over a week and accumulated no fines whatsoever AND been able to renew material from four states away without bringing the darn things in. And they have the obscure microtonal scores I'm always crazy about.
