"Sounding-Board Mark" especially:
this is for the ARTS Alumni Astral grant (
http://www.artsawards.org/Alumni/Opportunities/Alumni%20Astral%20Grants/) and I have to finish it and send it all off by Monday What do you think? I still need 3 composers or so...and some really cheap venues...and what else?
A commissioning project for a new musical instrument, the udderbot!
- $500 commissions given to four emerging composers with an interest in microtonality, each for a 4 to 10 minute piece for solo udderbot, with or without electronics
- creation of "Composer's Guide to the Udderbot," a series of webpages, developed out of the conversation with the commissioned composers, and for the benefit of anyone wishing to write for the udderbot
- the remaining $500 to go towards performance expenses (keeping to very cheap or free venues, udderbot building/repair materials) and website expenses
- a series of lecture/performances at multiple venues (urbana, chicago, madison, milwaukee, houston, NYC, london are being looked into) in spring/summer 2008 which will include the performance of the 4 commissioned pieces.

- upcoming performances include Minnesota Fringe Festival (Aug 2007) and Moondog Festival (Nov. 2007) (woooo!)
