Name: Carly Nagisa
Source Canon: Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds
Age: ~23 (canon has yet to state, but considering she has a full time job in journalism, I think this is a fair estimation)
Role In Canon: She's a friend of one of the lead protagonists turned villain.
History:
Carly's info Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds information Arc involving Carly up to the point I'd like to pull her.I'd be pulling Carly toward the middle/end of episode 58, where she shows Jack the vision she's been shown.
Personality: Once upon a time, Carly was a very hyper, motivated woman where things rarely worked out for her. She'd spaz frequently and it made her seem like no big deal. But, with just the right amount of determination, she could find answers where no one else is looking, especially when she wanted to defend those that she cared for. And that's exact trait was what lead to her downfall.
But I'm jumping ahead of myself.
Carly worked as a reporter. She always kept her camera on her just in case she found the perfect story to chase. She worked with a camera long before then: when she was young she took pictures of her friends while they dueled. She always wanted to see people around her succeed, and was willing to put them before herself.
So it's no surprise that Carly had a passion for celebrities: a crazy stalker type of passion. She barely knew Jack Atlas face to face for five minutes, and was already plotting her dream of marrying him and bearing his children. It could get borderline obsessive at times: she'd stalk the everliving shit out of someone she attached herself to. But, she was (and still is) the type to jump between obsessions. For example, hours before she met Jack face to face, she was gushing over Misty, and used her as a resource. Much like the typical teenybopper, Carly's taste seems flavor of the week rather than sticking with someone. Still, she was innocent, naive, and a bit on the crazy side. But everything she did was with good intention.
And then Carly died with a grudge in her heart. She made a deal with a god to enact revenge on the one who murdered her under one condition: she had to act as his servant. ”Now, what would that have to do with her personality?” I'm sure you're asking yourself right now. It's simple: her entire reasoning changed. That passion for Jack Atlas to succeed was twisted into a belief that she had to murder Jack so that he could be brought back to life as the king of hell. She became a sadist: she would practically get off on her attempts to murder and bring pain to Jack, so long as in the end he became her king.
Ultimately, Carly's deal turned herself into a shell of who she once was and allowed her to become a god's puppet. She's turned from the selfless woman with sparks of passion in her eyes into a selfish sadist who only wants what makes her happy. The last thing she would ever do would be to give up herself for someone else's happiness.
Or at least, it looks that way at the point she's pulled here. But when we look at some context clues: we can gather that with a bit of love, kindness, and friendship, there is still a small shred of the real Carly deep down because every yugioh villain excluding two or three is like this.
Abilities: Carly was given two abilities in the series from the earthbound god she serves. For the sake of this rp, that god isn't present (she has the card, but it's just a card). So the secondary ability she has is nonexistent and will not be mentioned in this application. However, the "dark dueling" ability remains since that does not require the presence of a conscious earthbound god to be used.
Considering the nature of this ability, I'll have a permissions post available, and my intention is to use this sparingly, possibly never. But since it exists I feel I should mention it and have it available to her if the need comes up.
Dark Dueling. Typically for dueling to cause actual physical harm, someone would have to be a "psychic duelist" (read: a duelist who's projected holograms become real what the fuck show) but in a Dark Signer's case, when they begin a duel a large sigil in the shape of the god appears (in Carly's case, this is a hummingbird) and the damage both duelists deal isn't holographic: it's real. When Carly summons her Earthbound God card, it will require feeding on the souls of those not dueling that stand within the hologram. To release said souls, Carly would have to lose the duel. The other catch: whoever loses the duel will perish. The only way to prevent this from happening is for something to stop the duel from continuing. In other words: Don't challenge Carly to Children Card Games.

[See a scowling woman staring into the feed. The whites of her eyes are completely black.]
No. This is not allowed. I was in the middle of something very important and suddenly I'm...here. It's not the cards giving me a new future: this is nothing like my last vision... No, this is something else.
Whatever is causing me to experience these hallucinations, how dare you get in the way between reuniting me with my love.
[she puts a hand to her face and gives a sick smile while she looks up.]
All I had to do was just hold my hand out to him and deliver the final blow and he'd have been mine. [she curls her hand into a fist.]
Now send me back. Now. I have a fate to fulfill and you're wasting my time here, whoever you are. I'll be kind when delivering your retribution if you send me back now. That is, unless you're aligned with the signers. [she glares] Then it's personal.
