Working in a casino that provides alcoholic beverages to its guests makes likelihood of me dealing with a drunk guest skyrocket. Most guests are quite nice and you really can't tell they're tipsy or if they're even drunk at all. Some can be quite amusing and some can be like the lady who came up to my window last night.
This lady comes up to my window and asks me where the nearest bathroom is. I tell her it's one deck down, there is no bathroom on this deck. She then hands me two tickets to cash out and tells me to make it fast. No problem, I tell her and scan the tickets in.
From the way she approached my window and from the way she acted/spoke, I knew this lady had a few too many in her. It's not my place to say anything (I could really get in to trouble) so I started counting out the cash from my drawer to pay her.
"You're a nerd," this woman then proceeds to say.
This came so out of the blue but I was good and didn't skip a beat in my counting.
"You're a big nerd, but I'm sure you knew that already!" she says with a drunken laugh.
I smiled, again saying nothing. Inside I was dying with laughter though. I count the money to the woman, clear my hands and wish her a good night. She leaves and I put the tickets away, filing this experience away for the blog.
Most people wonder why I volunteer to be the designated driver? It's for shit like this. No, not the actual comment but the sheer wtf-ery of it and how it came out of the blue. That kind of shit is what I live for.
