Customizing Alfred from "Gotham" part 2

Jan 22, 2017 19:18

Yesterday I showed the beginning, today he got finished! I really love this look of Alfred with rolled up sleeves. He somehow looks more badass than in full formal suit. I also noticed that his tie is a bit more loose and the top button not closed ( Read more... )

Much improved! Yes, I think that sanding the arms a bit more would help. Could you apply epoxy resin to smooth them a bit and then paint them? Your skill at modifying these figures is impressive!

Thank you very much! If I want something, then I need to make it. Even if I technically am supposed to pack my suitcase for tomorrow's travel LOL

From the pictures of the previous day, you can see that I tried to put some Milliput into the crinkles to fill them up, but if you do too much it will become even thicker.

I did now realize a mistake: I had put the rolled up cuffs too high, they need to be under the elbow. Which improves the forearms immediately! I am really happy about how he looks now. Here is the new picture:

You totally fixed it by moving the cuffs below the elbows, which is the most natural way to wear them rolled up anyway. Funny how we don't see these things right off. Well done!

I also had the cuffs way too thick and smooth the first time. I made them thinner and more wrinkled. Sometimes you need to fail to get on the right way. Can't get it right the first time always, yes ( ... )

Haha, let me know when you need a nip and tuck. But I tell you, sharp knives are being used ;)

After posting this picture I watched another episode and it turned out I had put the rolled up sleeves too high, they need to be lower. So I took it all off again and now he looks much better:

Thank you! I have no idea what they were thinking, that was awful. When I get a new suited Alfred, I'll do the hair as well. I did make it a bit darker now though, it had come out too white. He is still dark grey on top, only light grey at the temples.

I also realized a huge mistake - I had put the rolled up sleeves too high. They need to be lower and his forearms look better then too. I just switched out the picture, this is the new one:

WOW! That's incredible. No idea how you do these things :)

His forearms look a wee bit too big and I agree with another comment that some sanding would probably do it.

Wonderful job, congratulations!!!

Thank you very much! This one was actually pretty easy, just a little cutting and adding at other places. Very quick. Done in two afternoons. Hamlet for example took much longer, as I also had to form the naked feet there.

But yeah, I was not happy with how the arms looked, and after watching another episode yesterday evening I took it all off again as the cuffs were way too high. He only rolls them up till under his elbow, not above. The arms now look much better with that, and I darkened the hair a bit which was too white. Now I am really happy with the result. Here is the new Alfred:

The changes are amazing!!! It's perfect and looks just like Alfred does in the clips you sent me where he and Bruce are in the Batcave! Impressive :). You should do tutorials on Youtube and you claim to fame would be the video of JB's giving you a shout out for the doll you customized! You know cuz you need to be more famous than you already are :P lol

Aww, thank you!

Not so sure about the video tutorial ;) Did you ever watch the video I did about my photoalbum from my California trip? There you can hear my English with not only German but also Saxonian accent: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7G42TEhfbHo

I sometimes watch crafty videos or reviews of action figures but I always turn the sound off as some people have really annoying voices or speak too fast or have annoying loud music.

I'm trying to find an active Gotham community on LJ where I could show my stuff but there does not seem to be one. Shame.
