Yesterday I showed the beginning, today he got finished! I really love this look of Alfred with rolled up sleeves. He somehow looks more badass than in full formal suit. I also noticed that his tie is a bit more loose and the top button not closed ( Read more... )

I also had the cuffs way too thick and smooth the first time. I made them thinner and more wrinkled. Sometimes you need to fail to get on the right way. Can't get it right the first time always, yes?

It was the same when I did David Tennnant as Hamlet in t-shirt. With the first shirt sleeves he looked like a footballer! Way too much material.

The fun thing is, I was trying to do a screenshot to go along with it, for all of you to see, and was 17 episodes into the first season and still not one rolled up sleeve. Even though Alfred was in his vest, but the sleeves were still all the way down.

Funny how apparently only the last couple of episodes I watched convinced me that this is what he was looking like all the time. And he does so from the end of season 1 and into season 2. There is indeed a change. Maybe Sean complained, it sure can't be comfortable for a man to have the tie collar always so tight? The tie now is more loose and the top button not always closed. But when he goes out he is in perfect shipshape. I usually don't pay attention to this but this fascinates me ;) I know it from John Barrowman who other than in his role as Malcolm Merlyn, does not wear any ties at all. Certainly not when singing! Always open shirt collar then.

And I honestly want an Alfred for myself, in real life. Not only that he cooks and cleans and drives you around (and probably does the garden as well), he's also in a fight every other episode and knows how to beat a bad guy, and shoot and kill if necessary. And he teaches Bruce all the skills he will need as Batman one day. I'm totally smitten ;)
