AFT: Jack in the Sarrasani circus

This fountain is erected in the place where once the famous Sarrasani circus was situated in Dresden. It was not a tent, it was a real building which was destroyed in the Dresden bombing.
There was no water when Jack was visiting, otherwise he would have gotten wet ;)

I'd never heard of the Circus Sarrasani before, so I looked it up and fell down a bit of a rabbit hole. The story of Hans Stosch-Sarrasani was really intriguing.

Yeah, it's quite a story. Parts of it surviving in Argentina during East Germany times and after the wall had fallen down they came back, as Dresden is where they belong. You can visit dinner shows, having a nice dinner while watching some artistics at the same time.

Did your link also tell about the Native Americans that were over here back in the Thirties to do Wild West shows in the circus, and one of them loved Dresden so much that he wanted to be buried here?

Sadly the last chapter is not so good, they are fighting insolvency at the moment. I hope they pull through.

No, most of the link was about the early days of the circus. Details got a little sketchy when they fled to Argentinia and were forced to cooperate with Nazi sympathizers, which I thought was very sad, especially since the circus had helped a lot of people flee the Nazis prior to the company's relocation. Sometimes it seems like no good deed goes unpunished.

LOL there are too many Jacks out there ;) There is also Jack Carter from "Eureka".

My focus recently has moved to Jim (James T. Kirk) which is close but not exactly! I love people names with J though. When I first looked up who is the actor that plays Jack Harkness and found that his name was John Barrowman, I thought that is a very fitting name for a man playing a hero. I don't know, it just sounded right! Like a stage name but it's not. With such a name, you HAVE to become famous ;)
