Introductions: Mezco 1:12 Mirror Mirror Spock

Sep 03, 2016 16:25

Some picture of my first Mezco Spock. The Mirror Mirror version was first available at SDCC and can now be ordered at the Think Geek shop. There is also a Cage Spock variant available. Ordinary Spock has been out for a few months but has not reached German shops yet. There will be also Kirk and Sulu in October, and they work on a Captain's chair. ( Read more... )

Yeah, very different than my other figures. I hope I can get Kirk in golden Shirt to go with him. He may feel alone otherwise.

I always did like the alternate universe's uniforms. LOL

This is great. :)

Yeah, the uniforms are really looking nice! I really hope I'll get a Kirk in golden shirt to go with him.

Have I already told you to watch the "Star Trek Continues" episode that is set in the Mirror universe, right after the original episode ended? It's a really good one: https://player.vimeo.com/video/98076892?byline=0&portrait=0&autoplay=1

This is different than the other two though. The other Kirk and Spock, by QMX, are 30 cm high. This is only 15 cm and by Mezco. Two different lines.

But yeah, the face is really great! This is why I couldn't resist buying him. I want a Kirk with golden shirt though to go with him. I have a golden Kirk from Diamond Select. This is what he looks like: http://img.trekmovie.com/images/merchandise/dst-MirrorKirk.jpg

I tried some poses with Mirror Spock today but he was rather stiff and I don't know how much the joints will bend and I don't want to break him. I can't take the clothes off to look at the joints.

This is one of my favorite episodes! (Is it bad that I think he's hot?) LOL

He certainly has a certain something! Otherwise I would have not bought him. Still I want my golden Kirk to go with him. One cannot live without the other!

And I keep telling you you need to watch the "Star Trek Continues" episode "Fairest of them all" - lots of Spock in there! https://player.vimeo.com/video/98076892?byline=0&portrait=0&autoplay=1

Why does he have a beard, and a different costume? Is it his twin? I suppose the word "mirror" has to do with this change :)

Thanks for the mini-lecture! Star Trek seems to make every science fiction trope work for them.

Wow, the reconstruction looks really good, it's a copy-paste in every detail.

Then they made a whole episode, which continued from this scene, to show us what happened next in the Mirror universe, after the real team had left, and which showed us Spock finally taking over, trying to change the ways to the better.
Fans' creativity, right? You know you had a good idea for an episode when it can inspire other stories.

Sadly Mezco replied to my tweet that at the moment there are no plans yet.
I see. Well, fingers crossed for the change of mind!

Star Trek seems to make every science fiction trope work for them.

I'm wondering if it were not actually them that invented all those tropes in the first place? When I watched TOS, I often noticed similarities to Stargate, but of course it was the other way around, Stargate being influenced by Star Trek.
