Some picture of my first Mezco Spock. The Mirror Mirror version was first available at SDCC and can now be ordered at the Think Geek shop. There is also a Cage Spock variant available. Ordinary Spock has been out for a few months but has not reached German shops yet. There will be also Kirk and Sulu in October, and they work on a Captain's chair. ( Read more... )

Star Trek seems to make every science fiction trope work for them.

I'm wondering if it were not actually them that invented all those tropes in the first place? When I watched TOS, I often noticed similarities to Stargate, but of course it was the other way around, Stargate being influenced by Star Trek.

Wow, the reconstruction looks really good, it's a copy-paste in every detail.

Yeah, Vic is really dedicated like that!

I do have this Mirror Kirk: https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41-7rshvD1L.jpg

But his arms are too white and also on my figure the gold has faded as the figure is a few years old. Maybe I should repaint it.

What is nice about this figure, you can cut off the shirt to make a bare chested Kirk ;) Which I did when I did this version: http://dieastra.livejournal.com/181721.html

I need to do another one though and paint his chest accordingly. I don't think I'll ever take this selfmade shirt off again, tying the knots was so fiddly!

They might, at least some of them. I'm not actually a sci-fi expert, surely the genre existed earlier, but mainly in the books, I guess?

Fantastic job with the shirt, it looks amazing. Tying the knots must have needed patience :)
