Introducing my first Star Trek figures

Jun 02, 2015 01:05

So, about at least 40 years too late (as I grew up in Eastern Germany where we did not have that on our TV) I am finally catching up with Star Trek TOS and naturally falling in love with the young William Shatner so when I saw Kirk and Spock figures in the Forbidden Planet in Cardiff I had to buy them... They are awesome! Here's the first batch of ( Read more... )

OMG these are wonderful!! What size are they? I would consider getting Spock if he's 6 inches.

They are the same size like the Stargate figures, so bigger than the Torchwood/Doctor Who figures and all the other even more small ones (Star Wars? Indiana Jones? New Doctor Who) that are out there ( ... )

I suppose a Spock/Kirk/Khan threesome would be tricky.

Sadly the Torchwood figures are too small. I could imagine the Captains Harkness and Kirk getting along well! As their actors do in real life ;)

Hm, I like the way you're thinking ;) I'll see what I can do. The Khan pose is rather suggestive, isn't it?

I love Star Treck, Spock was always my favourite character.

I'm afraid I am more a Kirk girl... I'm always going for the leader ;) It was the same in Stargate. Although I also really do like McCoy. But these two and Spock together are really great!

They are great indeed! I truly love them! I am already on the lookout for more, I see there is also a McCoy and a Sulu.

Not sure what you mean though, sorry! You mean how to remove them? I just pull, and they pop off. The legs go quite easily, with the hands it was a bit more hard. Seems like there is indeed a Kirk and Spock pair of hands. I haven't dared with Spock's yet, they seem to be rather tight, and I don't want to break anything. Wish me luck with the head!

Because of the knob on top of the legs, they also can turn at the hips, and their feet turn, and they can move shoulders and elbows and the head of course. The company is the same that made my Stargate figures so this is definitely good quality.

But if I am honest I only bought it for the console LOL (just kidding). I love props like that.

Oh, those are really nice. I especially like the kneeling Spock. That rock is from one of my favorite episodes, The Devil in the Dark. Left a huge impression on me when I first saw it. Once you get past the really horrendous special effects, there was a lot to be learned from Star Trek TOS about tolerance, the danger fear of the unknown presents, mob mentality, how time distorts events and ideas, the folly of blindly following without question, I could go on. Gene Roddenberry was really something, I think.

This set was worth buying alone for the kneeling knees and the console. I love when I get several things for my money, and can play around. These were HUGE boxes, I would have never gotten them into the suitcase. I opened them, left all the plastic behind, and rolled all the items into my clothes, so they would not get damaged on the flight home ( ... )

That was a good scene. It made me wonder if anyone has ever collected all of the 'I'm a doctor, not a -----' said by Bones over the course of the series. I like your Jurassic World scenes. Those things are everywhere, aren't they? Really want to see that movie.

I'm sure there is a list somewhere, there is a list for everything. See? http://en.memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/I'm_a_doctor,_not_a...

After the pictures appeared everywhere, I decided to go to the cinema. Usually I wait till a movie is in TV, but it can take years and I wanted to know what it is all about. It was really good, I loved it. Hope you'll get a chance to see it! Also, before, I had no idea who Chris Pratt is.
