I'm catching up on your latest updates, my Castaways are the next stop in my neighbourhoods rotation so it's fitting for me :D
I love the plumbing issues, it sounds dumb but it's so realistic and forces the sims to live respecting Mother Nature's laws.
I manage to have the Manave "swim" or at least stay in the water immersed enough for it to satisfy their hygiene needs. It's a bit of a shame that the game offers those awesome swimmable ponds but that it's so difficult to make them work.
Lol at chief Fangaloka's court XD
Yay, slavery ! XD
I love the hair you have chosen for everyone, Jessica looks especially good, you have an eye for sims makeovers.
Oh yeah, bartenders don't work I think, it's not just you. Actually there are no bartenders, it seems, I just had a look at the neighbourhood in SimPE, I didn't see any in Shipwrecked&Single. We could try introducing one, or promoting one of the townies to bartender to see how it works, for instance one of those lost anyway in Default Family limbo.
What do you mean, a different maid comes every day, does the game keep generate new ones? It shouldn't be doing that.
Yay more CS from simlili! :D Have I ever mentioned how impressed I am that you can manage so many neighbourhoods at once?
I like the plumbing restrictions too! It's surprisingly fun to have to work around the lack running water. I found out the hygiene need is satisfied just by standing in water later on--lifesaver for the preggos!
Huh, I was so sure I had a bartender before, but maybe it was just a townie serving drinks. I've had them do that occasionally. Is there a way to assign a townie as bartender? I'd be game for experimenting with that.
As for the maids, I'm not sure if it's a new one each day, but there have definitely been a few new ones. They come and go while the boys are all at work, so I haven't paid too much attention. I should fix that. :)
I don't manage all that well playing this many hoods since it takes me ages to visit them, but hey... :'D
So I promoted a random townie to bartender and it doesn't work, the problem is most likely in the bar itself, much like those three BG bars that don't spawn bartenders in the original TS2 game.
Lord Darcy has fixed those, and provided some informations on how to fix other bars/objects, but it's far too advanced for me, especially since I like the CS bar the way it is, because it can kill townies :D In Wanmami once, it killed someone on the Valance lot, the townie was playing bartenders like they do in this game when there is a bar on a residential lot, and much like couches and the wobbly rabbit toy in the two other Stories games, the bar apparently doesn't come with a motives check for the townies using it, so if you don't chase them off before they hit critical motives failure, they die ^^
Anyway, if you want to "promote" a townie to service NPC, you need to -in "Family information (FAMI)", add them to the service NPC Family and delete them from the Townie Family -in "Sim Description (SDSC)", you need to both change their Family Instance in "Overview" (from 0x7FFE to 0x7FFF), and in the "Other" tab, you need to give them the correct NPC type. -and according to Chris Hatch on MTS, you need to change their GUID to that of the service NPC. I don't have a list of those Service NPC GUIDs, I just looked what it was in premade bartenders. For this you need to open the character file, and under OBJD, make note of the sim's "Orig. GUID" for backup, and change it with that of the service NPC you want. For bartenders it's 0x0C8EE246 for instance.
This last step with the GUIDs might be optional, I know for sure that it's not needed to turn a regular townie into a Garden Club member for instance.
I have turned townies in service NPC's before that but I honestly can't remember if that step was needed.
NPC types are listed here, although it's just as quick to copy the code from an existent NPC: https : / / simswiki . info / wiki . php ? title=SDSC
(Added a lot of spaces to pass the dreaded lj url ban^^)
My head spins with all the SimPE info but I'm sure if I followed it step by step it is far less complicated than it looks! Thanks for the tips even if they are dizzying. :D
I loaded up the game to test for sure if the maid was consistently new, because as mentioned, I wasn't paying close attention before. For 3 days the same one came, so it seems okay for now. Not sure why I was getting different ones earlier but I will not complain! Still, I will keep your mini tutorial in mind, just in case.
Also, I knew about the killer couches, but not the rabbit head. Is that in both games? I'll have to try it next time I load them. Uhhh, for scientific purposes only of course...
It cannot be complicated SimPE stuff if I can do it^^
Probably the CS maid doesn't have the same issue as the LS driver, then , as that is really specific and I haven't seen anyone complain about the CS maid.
I can't tell you whether it's in both games, I think so, it's very tricky to turn a toddler into a rabbit-toy murderer, due to the short span of toddler motives themselves. You need to have a fully rested/fed toddler with an empty bladder, so it can trap the innocent townie long enough to kill him, and you need to trap the townie when his motives are already rather close to critical, as older sims can resist much longer than toddlers :D
