Castaway: Story Mode

(Crossposted on LJ & DW)

As with most games I play, I am several years late to the party, but I've been having fun with Castaway Stories so I thought I would share some pictures from my game.

I'll start with a quick journey through the story mode, but I won't really talk about the plot...just in case someone reading this is thinking of playing it for the first time. Sure Sim stories are highly predictable, but this one is a little more creative than most.

Unlike previous Stories games, Castaway gives you a choice of protagonist, including the option to create your own. But I'm boring so I went with the default female, Jessica Knight.

Pretty cool that the plane can be played with!

Shame about the completely expressionless face though. :/

Especially when so many new objects and cut scenes have pretty great faces. :)

The game includes orangutans, which are treated like pets, but are kind of like Sims, and it's a weird combo. I don't like them at all, sorry to say. Mostly because they are glitchy and feel unfinished, but they also annoy the heck out of me.

How to catch terrible diseases: a guide by expert, Jessica Knight.

Apparently Ms Purple missed the note about the dress code.

(Supposedly) married chief and father flirts with newcomer moments after her second date. Just in case you forgot this was a Sims game. :)

I guess the fence thought they needed a bit of privacy. (And, uh, no, she isn't kissing the chief.)

This game is seriously so pretty.

Unlike a lot of other premade lots in the main game, the Castaway lots are nicely detailed and give a great atmosphere.

Granted, most of them are pretty boring to visit once the story is finished due to being mostly deco and landscaping, but dang if they ain't pretty.

And that's it for now! Next time: adventures in free play mode.

As you can see, I'm experimenting with a new format and platform. If anyone has tips on using dreamwidth more effectively and maybe image hosting tips (because imgur has changed a lot and I can't figure out how to post images that can be viewed without clicking a link) they are most definitely welcome! For now I'm using dreamwidth's image hosting and it seems okay, but a bit limited and disorganized. Suggestions welcome, either here or on tumblr!
