my dad has all these errands he wants me to do, but i hope he knows i'm not doing any of them until after 1:15. because that's when "the china syndrome" ends on amc. i just hope he doesn't decide he wants me to run errands NOW, and then he'll come up here and i'll be like "uh dad, i can't go now because i have to find out how the china syndrome ends. it's got wilford brimley in it, but he doesn't look like you yet, b/c it is only 1979."

right now in the movie, jack lemmon is very upset b/c not all the pipes at the nuclear plant were x-rayed, and apparently that's bad or something. i'm guessing one of the pipes turned out to have a broken leg, and that if they'd caught it early on they could have put a cast on it, which jack lemmon could have signed "i know you broke your leg, but try not you be too sour about it. your friend, jack lemmon." when he tried telling some other guy about it, the other guy got really mad and started yelling that jack lemmon did not know how much power the nuclear plant had, b/c "they have their own security guards! they have their own SECURITY GUARDS!!!" so, i guess the mall is more powerful than i thought also, b/c they have their own security guards too.

also, something i think is important, is that michael douglas, who plays a camerman, keeps hitting jane fonda, who plays an anchorwoman, on the butt. and i keep trying to figure out if it's b/c they are in some sort of romantic relationship, or if it is just b/c it is 1979. i think it might just be the 1979 thing.

oh, also michael douglas's character has a hispanic sidekick named hector. and whenever jane fonda can't find michael douglas she just goes to hector and yells at him and says "where's richard?? how can you NOT know where richard is???"

wilford brimley doesn't have as big of a part as i would like him to have in this movie. he pretty much just plays this guy who works at the plant with jack lemmon. i wish he played jack lemmon's part, or maybe even jane fonda's part. actually, i would like that the best. especially during the part where jane fonda asked her boss to let her do investigative journalism, and he was like "no. but i like your hair like that." i think wilford brimley could have brought a lot of depth to that scene as jane fonda's character.

uh-oh. right now, hector has to deliver jack lemmon's pipe x-rays to an important hearing, and ofcourse he is jamming to salsa music in the car, so he doesn't notice someone running him off the road. bye hector.

the scene immediately following hector in the accident is jack lemmon listening to a taco bell commercial on the radio. i'm not joking.

it seriously is a pretty good movie though. jack lemmon can eff some stuff up in a car chase he has for fun on his way to work.
