DeAnna's recovery had been something of a miracle. Doctors were scratching their heads at how quickly she recovered. Even Terrence was a bit concerned, wondering at times if she was going through a transformation herself ( Read more... )

DeAnna shook her head and invited Eion close to where she stood with Terrence. “I’d really like to get this thing’s toxins out of me. Do you think it would be better to come over to T’s place and do it there? Or would I be able to get back to his apartment before I crashed?”

DeAnna continued to hold Terrence’s hand. While it had not been unpleasant when Eion had diagnosed her she still was wary of magic. Some things in nature she preferred to remain storybook and movie fodder. It didn’t mean they didn’t actually exist or were necessary; as Terrence was for example; but that she would just prefer them to not be present in her own life.

"While you could make it back to Terrence's place, it might be best to do it there. That way, we're not taking any chances, plus you'd be more comfortable," Eion answered.

"Then let's head back to my place. So uh...I can take you there, Eion, but you want me to drive you back here or-" Terrence began.

"I can get back on my own, but I'll go with you to your place," Eion finished.

With a nod, Terrence took DeAnna's hand and followed Eion back to his car.

A short while later, Terrence, Eion and DeAnna were in Terrence's apartment. "Why don't you lay down on the bed?" Terrence offered. "I'm sure you'll be more comfortable there."

Eion gave a nod and waited for DeAnna to make herself comfortable.

"Maybe." she said holding Eion's gaze. "But honestly? I would rather have you heal me here in the living room." She sat down on the couch and removed her shoes and lay down on the cushion. It was clear that she wanted Terrence's bedroom to remain a private sanctuary for the both of them. Even though Eion was offering his help she did not want to associate anything negative with it.

"I really appreciate you helping me. I know you're doing this because of your relationship with Terrence but, I am grateful."

Eion had no qualms about casting the spell in the living room and his reply to her choice was supportive. "Whatever is more comfortable for you." But he looked a little taken back when DeAnna stated that Eion was only helping her because of Terrence. To that remark, he shook his head. He tone of voice when he corrected her didn't show any anger; in fact he actually sounded a bit disappointed. "Even if you were a complete stranger, I would help you. We try to help anyone in trouble as best as we can, actually ( ... )

DeAnna hadn't meant to hurt Eion's feelings or disappoint him. The truth was she didn't know the man's mind but could tell that he had a big heart. She figured that within time they would get to know one another and she genuinely liked him. Terrence had good taste in friends and she trusted Eion at a time she was most vulnerable and most people she would have sent packing. She apologized and acknowledged his civil minded nature and touched his hand in reassurance that she was sincere. She was just scared. It had been a long day and now that the end of her torment was at hand she felt her exhaustion ( ... )

The mage graciously accepted the apology. When the spell was finished and DeAnna said she was mostly feeling all right, Eion replied, "The nausea is to be expected but if it continues for over a week, let me know. I'll reexamine you if that's the case." He gave her a relieved smile. "You're welcome, DeAnna. Just take it easy for the next few days and you should be all right ( ... )

DeAnna smiled at the offer of the garbage pail and even giggled a little. “Nothing says, ‘I love you Babe’ like vomiting.” She stroked his arm. “My hair’s in a pony tail so you don’t have to worry about holding it for me at least.” She sighed and rubbed her stomach with a hand. “Eion’s a great guy. I didn’t mean to hurt him earlier, but lately, that’s all I’ve done is snipe at people. Now that I’m me again, things will be better.” She closed her eyes and held on to Terrence’s hand. “So what are you plans while I’m laid up here with my barf can?”

DeAnna listened about Eion and assured Terrence that he was not babbling, but just voicing his respect for his friend. She squeezed his hand and her eyes lit up a little at the mention of ESPN. “Could you maybe lay in here with me and watch some? Maybe there’s a game on, or something. I’m kinda in the mood for some Hockey.” She looked up at him. “And I don’t want you to go. I can fall asleep when I want to, I just like you here.”

She sighed and rolled her eyes at her own question. “God, I sound like such a clingy girlfriend. I might just vomit on principle now.” She laughed slightly.

"You're not being clingy," Terrence then put his arm around her and pulled her close. "After all you been through, I'm just glad I can help you through all this." He gave her a warm smile and took the remotes off the nightstand. Searching through the TV listings, he found a game on the Versus Network.

"Here we go," he said as he put on the game. Then he jokingly added, "Hopefully watching grown men beat the shit of each out with wooden sticks will cheer ya up a bit."

“I like Hockey.” DeAnna stated curling up to Terrence once he joined her in the bed. His body felt colder to her than while she was infected. It felt normal and she pulled the bed clothes tighter around her and curled up in with the extra blanket he had brought her, against him. Even though she felt like she had been run over by a truck, she knew that things were going to be all right. She felt ‘normal’ and the thought made her smile.

“When I stop feeling so sick, I hope you’re ready to give me the loving we were going to do earlier. I’m looking forward to it.” She sighed happily and closed her eyes. “I hope there’s a fight. That always cracks me up when they hold on to one another and skate around in a circle. Boys are stupid sometimes. Present company excluded of course.”

"Hockey's good, though I do prefer football myself," Terrence confessed. As DeAnna snuggled closer to him, he smiled, enjoying her warmth.

"Oh don't worry about that. I'll be ready. Just say the word when you are." He gave a little waggle of the eyebrow and a pleased smirk right after saying that.

"Usually they smack each other into the boards," he commented, remarking on the hockey fights. "And...I'm glad you don't think I'm like those dumb guys."

His embrace was comforting and DeAnna rested her head upon his chest. Being wrapped up in the blanket as she was she felt cozy but not too even though she was running a fever. Because of his colder body temperature it off set her fever enough to make her perfectly comfortable. “Of course I’ll let you know.” She stated patting his chest. “I’ve just been through a really traumatic time, I’m going to need some loving to make me feel like I’m all right and back to myself again. I love the way you make me feel.” She rubbed her cheek against his chest, feeling a slight wave of nausea surface at the movement ( ... )

"Hopefully you'll feel better soon." Terrence could hear DeAnna's stomach gurgle a bit when she felt nauseous. He rubbed her stomach slightly, trying to be comforting and he smiled as her cheek brushed against his chest ( ... )

“You’ve been through allot. I don’t know what I would do if I thought I was losing my family, or if they turned their backs on me. Not that I could ever see that happening, but you never know. Something like being a Vampire would be…difficult for my father to accept. Mom and Holly, no. Kevin? Maybe he would surprise me, but RD and Daddy? They’re hard core logical men. That’s why I haven’t told either one of them about you. RD would use that as ammunition to make me miserable by splitting us apart.” She hugged Terrence tighter. “He’s a dick. My brother, but still a dick ( ... )

"I can't exactly blame them for being scared at first. I mean...some of the vampire stories basically have the vampire kill their families shortly after transformation. My mom is in her seventies and my sister has two young kids. Both kinda fragile in a way, you know?" Terrence admitted. "But meeting your family briefly was nice and at least your Mom and Holly already know so you don't have to keep secrets from everyone. Of course, I didn't meet your Dad until you were in the hospital so...I didn't get to meet him under good circumstances. But maybe someday I will."

He stared at the ceiling for a moment before asking, "Why would RD go to so much trouble to break us up if he found out? Is this something he'd just get off on?"

Terrence rubbed DeAnna's stomach again. "Thanks DeAnna. I know I had no control over what happened. But, still...if I had a chance to reverse this transformation, I would."
