the best bread i ever had was from estee lauder. ... or was it lancome? i like the name 'estee lauder' more so we'll say it was from her. well--it was from a makeup counter and it was a free gift. they would give out these loaves of french bread. well, when i hear french bread i imagine something long with a hard crust and soft inside. but, these were all soft and slightly sweet. so delicious. my mom loves/obsessively hordes/collects free gifts with purchase so my brother and i would run many an errand at marshall field's buying a tube of eyeliner just to score a carry-all and a whore-shade lipstick. but, seriously, best bread EVER. havn't had it in a while. if anyone hears about a free bread gift with purchase let me know and i'm there!
