The Cam and I: So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye

Jan 22, 2009 09:49

It is official, I've left the Camarilla and honestly it feels good. For those who wish, here is my final letter:

Members of the Camarilla,

It is after a lot of thought and consideration that I announce my departure from the Camarilla. To those whom I've had a chance to role-play with, thank you for the memorable scenes. To those of my home domain, Seattle, it's been a pleasure knowing and role-playing with you. To those friends I have made, I hope we can continue our friendship and swapping of stories.

I once shared with a friend that there are times when making the bittersweet decision to leave something is for the better so that the memories one has of those moments remain more positive, as that is far better than remaining and letting negative feelings and opinions creep in and destroy those memories.

I see no reason to go into a long diatribe as to why I am leaving the Camarilla. Suffice it to say that the Camarilla that I was introduced to a few years back is not the Camarilla that I see today. Whether this change is for good or bad is often a hot topic for debate. I will not go into details of my opinions on this as I think my departure is opinion enough as to my feelings, nor do I have a desire to start a flame war through this letter. This is coupled with a project which I have become re-involved with and is demanding enough of my time and attention that I cannot do both, thus I am turning my attention and efforts to this other project at this time.

Those who wish my contact information so they can stay in touch are free to write me and ask for what they want (IMs, e-mail, phone number, etc.) and I will respond with what I am comfortable giving out to each individual. Likewise, should anyone within my former coordinator or storytelling chains wish to discuss my departure I would be happy to entertain private correspondence with them. My e-mail address is below.

Until later,
