Birthday barbque 3

Jul 20, 2011 22:17

We bought our food for the barbq today. I had a bean and rice recipe I planned to make because it would travel well, but Max didn't like it. So, I had revamp the plan. Now our 3 hr away menu will include: Chicken (baking it Friday night), three bean salad, watermelon, and plan potato chips. Max should eat everything. We also got some of his coconut yogurt for in the morning, coconut milk, and a box of cereal that he can. He should be set.

I asked my husband if he thought his sister was offended when she found out we were bringing our own food. And he said no and said, "you mean his food?" And I repeated, "No our food." He said, "well, we can eat some of their food too." Apparently he didn't understand if I was packing all this food for my son's, daugthter's and husband's birthday party and then driving it three hours, we were not eating ANY of their food. His next question was, "Why are you being like that?" I responded, "Because we eat together as a family". If he pushes this, I'll tell him he can go and I and the kids will stay home.

I'm now annoyed and angry about this stupid party again. I really don't want to go. I can't be nice. I don't want my kids out of my sight and I don't want my son out of my arms. I did tell my husband I would let his mom hold Max. Now I want to take that back again as I think of all the allergens at that stupid party.

I keep telling him before the next get together, he has to call and talk with them about food appropriateness and keeping Max safe. I will not be exposing Max again. Especially now that Max is allergic to the main antibiotic for skin infections....and his allergies transform into skin issues/infections.

family, allergies
