Of networks and nightmares

Wheee. Yesterday I met up with anghockey and etarip to see Outfoxed, which is a documentary about Fox News and their complete lack of anything remotely resmembling fairness, balance, or journalism. As Andrea said, it was disgustingly low-budget but fantastic. We were practically having fits of anger in the movie theater over some of the Fox news footage they showed, specifically segments from the O'Reilly Factor where O'Reilly basically cursed out his guest (a young man whose father was killed in the WTC attacks but who was still anti-war) and told him to get out of his studio. ARRR. There was so much more, but I shouldn't rant about it right now or I'll just get all worked up. To borrow Andrea's word again... *simmer*

And then last night I had a nightmare about how I was in the voting booth, and it was like there was a movie title that you had to vote for under each candidate's name. I remember the Republicans (I seem to remember Bush, Cheney and Ashcroft all being on the ballot) having random porn video titles at the bottom of their lists as a joke, after all the legitimate movie titles. >.< I have NO IDEA what prompted my subconscious to dream that up, but it did. There were two options under BUSH and KERRY that were really confusing, and I didn't know which to pick -- for some reason they weren't movie titles like everything else, but they still didn't make sense. I tried to go for the YES KERRY, NOT BUSH option but apparently I punched the wrong thing, and picked "NOT REALLY KERRY" under the KERRY category. I tried to tell the official-looking people what had happened, and some other guy had inadvertently voted for Bush too and was trying to get them to fix it, but they wouldn't listen. It was terrifying and depressing. And then I woke up. :(
