Goodbye, and some (not really needed) peace of mind.

Okay, I'm leaving for real this time! :) I just wanted to say thanks to those of you who voted in my name poll. If I'm brave enough, I'll try a new version in Florence...but I don't know if I can bring myself to do it. I was going to try it at wahleecon, but I had already told some people how to pronounce it and I got cold feet at the last minute. :p ( Read more... )

Byeeeeeee.... Elly ew THE ra! (or whatever)

I'm bummed, very bummed, about the change in courses, but I guess you know best. Keep us updated, and check out those Archaic Greek statues in the Uffizzi. And HAVE FUN!!!

Oh, and if you want more reading for that course you're not going to take, check out Edith Wharton's short story "Roman Fever." Highly recommended!

"Roman Fever" is one of my favorite short stories ever. *swoons*

Sorry I'm not taking the course... I really, really didn't want to read Hannibal, and I know that's just one book, but the other ones didn't look that great, either. :( A Room With A View didn't end up being on the syllabus after all, and the ones that were all seemed to be the more obscure, less critically acclaimed versions of their authors' other classics. ;) I'd just rather be taking a class that involves the Italian language than an English lit course, really. I'm terribly sorry you're disappointed! If you have a special recommendation I'll read it, I promise. :D

Oh, a self-directed experiential course is much better, don't you think? It sounds like you've done much of the reading already, anyway. ;)
