hi- back- cars-sickly- ewwww

 hello.
I got back from California after a couple of flight cancellations due to snow in NJ- good week to go as it turned out.
Though the snow doesn't really bother me unless I really HAVE to go out- which is seldom.

And that is a good thing since the lock on my drivers side door broke and the door won't close now.

sigh-
I tried bungee cords and tying it inside to various places in the back of the van but there is still too much play in the cords and the door still opens about a foot.
this happened the day before I was leaving for California- a very interesting ride to the shuttle to say the least.

Even more interesting coming back since the roads were still snow packed.

double sigh.
so- I either have to figure out how to close the door permanently, fix the lock myself, or be carless- which frankly I would love but the area isn't conducive to that.
I guess the money I save on insurance could be used for taxi's and car rentals.

California was good- great seeing brothers and SIL's again.
Plus my niece is amazing.
I went to a piano recital she was in and it was mind blowing.
She has taken piano lessons 10 months and guitar about a year before she started piano and she played a fricking Mozart sonata just about flawlessly!!!

She said she made mistakes but since I don't have a trained ear I didn't caatch them- but the others I could tell the mistakes because they hesitated and replayed the note.
Someone at the back of the room actually made a hoot when she stopped playing.

this kid is wild- she is going to be 11 next month- straight 1 student- very competitive-

Gawd I wish I had 1/10th of her "will"
I never did.

Anyway- I got worn out from the trip even though we didn't do much as far as going out and about.
So now I am sick- bronchitis I think.
And being that I had been away there isn't anything in the house as far as fresh fruit, juice, yogurt and the like- (not to mention chocolate and pretzels!!!)

I think I will be moving to California within a couple of years if I could only get the will to start unloading my stuff (and not spending the money.
Its in my 5 year plan anyway.

Lord I wish I had a nanny- a live in nanny. LOL
like a governess who cooks and enforces time and what is done in those times.

I wonder if martha Stewart is available.
I bet she is a real task master.
And we could paint all my furniture too.
cool.

Well, my friend Karla is doing an overnight UPS of some supplies- (she can do that through her job_ sending soup, hummus, juice, fruit etc.
I hope she gets the email that I need TP and a box of tissues.

Gotta call the drug store and ask them to send me some cough drops with my scripts.

back to lying down- though I need a shower desperately.

not catching up with email or facebook or anything right now- too tired.
Haven't even taken the notices I put up on etsy that I would be away- which is not good as I need cashola- OF COURSE- when don't I?
