A Musical Dilemma

She whistled. Keened. Glanced across the street at him.
Billy Kaplan was watching her with interest. She was positive it was the kind of interest that went along with wanting to be far from the same locale as she, but that didn’t matter.
She smiled, laughed, nodded, and acted perfectly normal. But she was watching him.
Another keen had him on his feet, battling with his own mind. Stay or go? Watch or look away? Walk over and start talking or run in the oppsite direction, screaming.
She glanced at her watch, then at him again, made some excuse about the time, and wandered off into the NYC fray.
Mere moments passed before she heard the expected footsteps behind her. They traced her path perfectly, and she knew she’d snared her prey.
It wasn’t often this was so fulfilling.
"Mr. Kaplan, I do believe your boyfriend will be jealous," she said, ducking into an alley.
He pushed her against the wall. "Shut up, Songbird. Don’t think I don’t know what you did to me."
She opened her mouth, looking offended, let out another keen, and his mouth was on hers.
Nothing like it. Nothing in the world like telling a gay man he was feeling this for her. Nothing like knowing she could get a little and leave him in the dirt.
Perfect.
