They’d been on the run for weeks now. The registration act had followed and dogged them at every step until they’d scattered to the four winds.
Billy and Teddy hadn’t seen each other in almost a month, and they’d only run into each other by chance.
Thinking about it was a little scary. Billy shivered and pressed against Teddy. His anxiety made their hiding spot that much colder.
Warm hands pulled him into Teddy’s lap. They huddled together, trying not to think about the outside world, until the sun rose.
