"How long have we been together?" Teddy asked absently.
Billy thought for a moment. "Eight months. Why?"
Billy was wrestling with some complicated math problem. Teddy looked over his shoulder. "The answer’s five, by the way."
Billy grinned and scrawled out some bullshit work that looked like it might work, along with the answer. "How’d you know that?"
Teddy leaned over and pressed a kiss to Billy’s temple. "Same textbook and we did that last week."
Billy chuckled, then fell silent as he finished his homework and stuck it in his bag.
"Billy? Can we go out tonight?" the shapeshifter asked. "I want to do something special."
Billy grinned and nodded. "Sounds great."
