Summary: Geoffrey's been looking since the bookstore closed down.
038: Work
It wasn’t hard to find another job after the bookstore shut down. Geoffrey actually wound up with his choice of jobs. It was a nice dilemma to have, and he put exactly enough though into it.
He wound up working at a diner during the breakfast rush, and at the Circle A around the corner in the afternoons. This left his evenings free, most days, and both were in very convenient locations.
Geoffrey could get off work and drive a few blocks to Catherine’s workplace to pick her up. He certainly wasn’t complaining about that.
Catherine surprised him on his first day. She was waiting for him when he got off, and by the time they reached her apartment, she’d invited him in with a lingering promise he couldn’t possibly have turned down.
He followed her up the stairs and found himself almost late for work the next day.
