This is my current choice for my new camera, recommended to me by
kkart at DA.
It's a beautiful Canon EOS 50D
The biggie here is that local stores sell it for the heartbreaking price of: $2370.5 usd or $32,000 mexican pesos. Just the basic kit. ( that price is almost the whole year payment of my horse's fees!)
I wish I could trust on ebay sellers, because they have it for $1,600 usd (around that price) with some extra accessories.
Well, I will have to hold my breath and save lots of $$ to be able to get it. Yesterday I received amazing comments of my family because I took like 800 pics on my cousin's XV years party. The catch here is that my photos came out more colorful than the photos they got from the photographers they hired. And they had Flash on their cameras, I didn't have flash, and all the shoots were made with my poor Sony DSC-H7, with only the lens hood that came with it in the box and until now I figured out that I can use it o_O
The fact is that when they purchased like 30 pics of each of those photographers, they got like 85 pics from me on the same size 5x7. This are some of my favorites:
Getting nice comments from them and from 2 event's photographers make me feel good but yet not satisfied with my pics. I do want to make this portfolio of photos and take them to the photography's teacher at the art workshops I used to go a few years ago.
My main focus will be horses and my cats ^^ And well, perhaps events as it seems that my family is getting very excited about having a photographer near them that won't sell them the pics so expensive and with so low quality. At least I could get the colors of my cousin's dress right. In the bad side, I didn't sell this pics to my aunt, I gave them to her as a gift. They insisted, but I told them that in august, for my bday they can make me a little donation for my new camera >.<
I also got really cute pics this weekend on the father's day meal we organized. It was really funny and well, I got amazing candid pics of the family. Including one quick shot of my mom covering dad's eyes for the piñata! It was a lucky one because I was trying to help my cousins to take the piñata's cord off the place where it was stucked. I turned my head and I almost screamed becauseI was missing the best shots I could ever have, so I turned the camera on with my left hand and quickly took a very out of center pic, but I got to take them both in a very cute look.
Me proud!
I like this, being an artist and also a photographer! Of course those are 2 very different disciplines, but thankfuly they complement each other. Not like engineering and artistic painting.
I would love to have a more professional camera, but facing reality, I don't have a very secure space to hide it at home. Perhaps in the future, when I can get my own studio space.
And well, of the $35,000 pesos I have to save, I have $400 pesos of my coins savings (I save all the coins I get from purchases I make >.<), so $34,600 to go! Yay!
And luckily, when I have the half of that money, the camera will have dropped the price! ^^
Ahhh sweet dreams T.T
There's something I do hate about artist life. Everything is so God damn expensive!
Well, big hugs everybody! Have a wonderful day!
