About a month and a half ago from my bday and well, I finally have plans. From June to the end of August it's going to be a very VERY hard period because of what this months meant for me the past 5 years, so for once I want things going on my way instead of life's way.
My bday is August 14th, it's friday, I'm not a party person, so perhaps I won't be doing anything that day. I have planned to throw everything to hell that day and scape to the ranch to spend the morning with my horse. So I hope people won't call me from 9am to 2pm that day. If I could I will definetely spend the whole day there, but sadly I can't.
The previous weekend I'll go to my grandma's house from friday 7th to sunday 9th. My family is already excited because for some reason people there love me, I don't really know why since I stopped going often years ago. Only this year I found out that part of me belongs to that place and I returned and people there received me with the arms wide open. I just realized that all my cousins are all grown ups now, it's so weird to realize that there are no kids there anymore.
I will spend the weekend there and probably there will be a little family reunion on sunday, so I hope that most of the family can go, I wish all my cousins or at least most of them can be there. I'm determined to get drunk with cousins that weekend. Cross my heart.
And on August 15-16 there will be an Expocomic's, another convention. I won't attend to the artist alley this time because I can't afford it. I'm also determined to save $$ for a new camera and what I have in mind is a Canon EOS 40D once it's out on stores here. I've only seen the 30D and it's the cheapest among all the ones available (like $12,000 pesos that are around $950 usd including the basic lens kit, good for me to learn)
Why did I decided to go for this? Because I printed yesterday some photos I took and some of them made me realize that I can go further with photography too. I enjoy it. But sadly my current camera's flash doesn't work, and I got an advice from a local events photographer, that I should upgrade my camera instead of repair it. I agree. I enjoy my Sony DSC-H7 a LOT, but I've had it for almost 2 years and like 10,000 pics later I believe I can give it a rest and use it as a backup.
And well, I'm also waiting for dad to ask a friend of his for his old analog camera! It's a beautiful Old Canon wich model I don't know really, but I remember that some photos of me as a baby were taken with it and they were BEAUTIFUL! So, I want to give it a try too. So I can have 2 options, digital and analog (sorry if it's not well written! I'm not familiar with photographer's terms)
Anyway.
The plan is to save $$ and seriously, if I have enough family reunited I will go one by one asking for any kind of cooperation for my new camera ^^ So, if you don't know what to give me as a gift, you could hide any amount of $$ on an envelope and give it to me as a gift hehehe it will be very well invested!
I just need to know how to enter galleries with photos. I love to have many options in the artist's world.
Well, I'm off for tonight. I still need to finish some work for EK as well as an advertising for my cousin's receptional work that will also work for the coffee company of our family. And also, I'm getting drunk tonight. Sweet red wine I got with my points at a local supermarket and there was a promotion, so I got 30% of the price back in my points card. Nice huh?
Well, those are the plans for my bday week. My family is excited, I'm just wanting to be out of my house for a while after all what happened this days. I will try to keep the herd as healthy as I can, as I'm really wanting to spend those 3 days for myself.
I love you all, and that's not the alcohol talking!
Oh of course than any advice about a Camera would be deeply appreciated! Perhaps something in the quality of the Canon EOS 30D or 40D, Xsi or XST, Sony Alpha A200 and Nikon D40. Those are the ones I can afford =(
I'm more focused on the Canon 30D (available) or 40D (still waiting for it).
Thank you very much!
