I'm getting my cat back tomorrow. I am so fucking terrified. I'm afraid that the moment she comes back to me, something will happen and I'll be unable to help her. I'm afraid she won't adjust. I'm afraid she'll take off and get lost. I honestly want her to stay indoors, but I'm afraid to press about it with the lady I'm renting my room from. She's

I've been hoping to find work so I can have money, not only to support myself, but to get vet care for Sugar (and get her the good cat food rather than the cheapest bag I can find). Right now I'm living off of Financial Aid from my school, but eventually that'll run out. The problem with job hunting is that I'm not a very good at working. I'm slow and uncoordinated and people keep telling me, "you'll eventually get the hang of it and go faster."
Only, I don't, or not enough to be satisfactory. And interviews are a nightmare for me, as well as filling out job applications. I swear, short of name, birth date, and sex, I have to think how to answer every question on those things, and the personality questions are even worse. I feel compelled to be honest, but honesty means admitting my weaknesses, and no employer wants to hire a slow worker who has trouble with social cues most other people can pick up.
I wish there was a job for me where there aren't too many physical demands, and where contact with people is minimal outside of employers and co-workers. Oh, wait, I had that. Only it was volunteer work, and no one wants to pay me to stack books all day.
Well, maybe my college's library, but they don't have an opening.

*nods* when Avvie was much younger, my ex and i were living on food stamps, and it was terribly difficult to take care of our kittehs(Avvie had 4 sibs, who were with us for quite some time).
i applaud and admire your determination to take care of your little one!
as for the job issue..hum..well, i live in texas, and here we have the Texas Workforce Commission. they offer assistance in job search and training, and helping you with interviews and such. perhaps there is something similar where you live?
maybe you could talk to the Counselor at your uni/college? they may be able to give you advice, or point you in the right direction to get help.
i've only recently found a program that will pay for my back surgery(herniated disc), and all the dr's visits and everything.
the programs ARE out there, you just have to find them or ask the right people.
if you ever need to talk or vent, or anything, you are always welcome to pm me.
