time - precious time
updates seem to be few and far between these days! i'm snatching some time to do one while freddie takes a nap to recover from a "projectile episode", although as i'm also having a somewhat unhealthy breakfast of cheese crackers and a kitkat, and he somehow psychically knows when i'm eating and soon puts a stop to it, this quiet time may not be quiet for long!
freddie is doing well - he's had a cold for most of this week, but we only had one really bad night with it (up five times). he's still snuffly, and has a nasty little cough, but seems to be getting over the worst. he had his first lot of jabs yesterday, and was very brave indeed - we were proud of him. but then the poor little guy is no stranger to needles, given his first few weeks :o(
he's putting on weight well - he was 11lb 8oz ten days ago, and will be weighed again on monday - i suspect he'll be pushing 12lb by then.
he's sleeping really well at the moment, although i'm painfully aware that could all change! he slept from 10pm til 5am last night, although i'm still waking up when steve comes home and struggling to sleep again afterwards. i do feel like i'm getting a bit more, though, although as i'm getting more, i seem to be more knackered - go figure.
in other news, we're hopefully moving in less than two weeks' time (the removals company gave us a better deal if we didn't have a fixed date - we'll know for sure with seven days' notice). we now have electricity at the house, which is a big improvement, as well as appliances and most of a kitchen. we don't have heating downstairs yet, because we had to find a new plumber - the one who took the radiators off refused to say for definite if he could come back, sent me a text message saying "see yer tomorrow then", and when called back refused to give us a quote for the work in advance. so we said a firm "no thank you"! luckily our electrician is a friend too, and knows a couple of plumbers, so hopefully that will be done by the time we move in.
other than that, the main job now is getting carpet on the stairs, landing and hall, which hopefully we're going to order today. we also need carpet for freddie's room. other than that it's really just things like putting up shelves, which although it takes time shouldn't be too tricky. and giving the whole place a really really good clean! hopefully not "aided" by flood water...
right, better go - little man is mithering, and i think he needs a cuddle. who knows, maybe the next update will be from my new house :o)
