Harry took the recording seriously, and Stan didn't. Typical day at the "office" for Harry Caul. Stan was a helpful second hand and that's why Harry kept him, even when Stan's wisecracks and disregard for the seriousness of their cases got under Harry's skin. His one wish was for Stan to realize they weren't high-tech gossip reporters, that they ( Read more... )

It was very strange to be on the other side of the white room's door right now, Cameron thought as the man came in. She tilted her head, curious, and walked over to the door to glance into the window and wait for him to see her.

She didn't really do very well at the whole 'greeting people' thing, though, so she didn't make herself immediately known. He'd have to look through the window for her to do much more than stare.

Harry had to get past the elevator-turned-into-a-white-room thing before even thinking about looking out the window.

It took a while, and didn't occur until after he called out, "H-hello?"

Cameron is not the master of hospitality, Harry will quickly find out.

"Are you armed?" Not that it matters, she supposes. She steps into the room a moment later, opening the door.

Harry blinked, unable to come up with an adequate response to that. No, he wasn't armed. He was never armed. He never saw the point of carrying arms. They were too dangerous.

"I-I'm sorry," he said. "Do I know you? W-where am I?"

"I am Cameron Phillips. You are in the year 2006, in an underground station called the Orchid. It was created by a scientific research group called the DHARMA Initiative. The purpose of this station is to monitor experiments on space and time. The portal you have just stepped through presently brings only people from other dimensions. We are working to correct this error."

If the speech sounds familiar to the mun, it's because it's exactly the same speech that Tilly gave to Cameron when she first arrived.

Hey, it was probably some sort of protocol so she'd repeat it.

Photographic memory is photographic.

Harry just blinked blankly (say that ten times fast).

2006? Experiments in time and space?

Did he die?

"Would you like me to repeat anything?"

She kept her gaze on him levelly. It's probably kind of unsettling.

"I -- ah -- "

He wasn't sure.

"W-where am I, again?"

"In an underground station called the Orchid."

She pursed her lips. "...we will need to give you a vaccine and take a blood sample."

"I understand that it is difficult to fathom," she says, slowly, "but you are stuck here until further notice. You will be assigned a job."

Dan's been up with Rossamünd for the bulk of the morning, showing him around and setting up workspace. When he started hearing voices, one of which sounded distinctly like Cameron's, he paused in his work to check up on the very scary robot his new coworker.

"Who are you talking - oh."

He blinks, tilts his head at the newcomer.

"Hi."

Harry merely blinked at both of them, and said nothing.

Cameron glances to Dan and arches a brow.

Who did you think she was talking to, Dan? Seriously.

"He is a new arrival, Dan."
