Ok, now that I've managed to pull myself together, I think I can spare a few more comments on this weeks The Office.
The Office 6x04: Niagara
It was just perfect, you guys! Absolutely perfect.
I'll be honest, I pretty much hated the beginning of the episode and if it weren't for
delennbr watching it and telling me how good it was, I wouldn't have expected anything good to come of it (and also, I didn't really know this was the wedding episode already, so I didn't have high hopes for it).
But OH MAN, right after that scene, it was just such a perfect episode. It was hilarious, it was beautiful, it was touching and it was very... The Office.
I loved Michael in it... well, not so much the speech he gave even though Jim and Pam asked him NOT TO! But he wouldn't be Michael Scott if he didn't give a speech. Other than that, I loved him with Jim, and then not getting a room for himself... And how adorable was he crying at the wedding??? Aw, Michael... Besides, I don't know what he did, but Steve Carell looked particularly handsome in this episode. Maybe because he was dressed all casual, I don't know...
That ending with him and Pam's (or is it Jim's?) mom was kinda scary, though... But I loved that he mentioned Holly when he was talking to her at the church.
Pam's best friend liked Dwight. Wow. And he couldn't care less... then he actually kicked her in the nose during the ceremony (hilarious!). And he gave them turtles!!! Although, the moment I saw that cute little turtle, I thought of
this particular SGA scene (Poor Carson... now we know what truly happened to his turtles... "MAH TURTLES!!!").
Oscar and Kevin were great and I loved that girl thinking that they were a couple... and Kevin was totally cool with it! haha Poor Kevin, by the way... he lost his shoes! But he was hilarious with the wig and the boxes in his feet.
Andy's party actually looked really fun! I mean... up to the point where he hurt himself. I'm surprised at how much I'm actually liking Andy now, as opposed to how much I hated him when he joined the Scranton branch... Way to go, Andy!
The wedding montage... Wow! It was perfect. Not so much the song because I've watched that YouTube clip and I've seen it referenced so much I'm actually tired of it by now, and yet that whole scene made me cry. For real. The fact that everyone from Dunder Mufflin was dancing (even Angela... well... in her own way, I guess), even Stanley of all people! They all had their unique styles and they were enjoying themselves so much... and then Jim and Pam just stood there, looking at each other... not really caring about anything else because they were actually already married! I loved the two of them on the boat... and at the end, where they're just holding each other...
Honestly people, Jim/Pam is one of the best-written TV romances of all time. All other TV shows should take lessons from them... (and from Lily/Marshall of HIMYM). Couples don't need drama to be interesting.
I don't even know what to say about them, they were so perfect and I'm just so happy for them right now.
((also, I want my own Jim Halpert... ♥))
OH, one more thing: my heart kind of melted when Jim and Pam were taking the mental pictures... because, as it turns out, that's something my parents used to do when they were together (well, so they told me).
I'm not entirely sure if this makes me happy or sad. Maybe both, I don't know. But it definitely makes me love Jim/Pam more than I already did.
