It's hot and humid ten months of the year where I live. And I have kind of oily skin to start with. I've been looking for a good mattifying product for ages. I've tried all kinds of supposedly mattifying products--high-end, drugstore, primers, powders, matte cosmetics. Some were slightly helpful, meaning I wasn't shiny with all my make-up sliding off until about noon instead 10:00-11:00ish, but an extra hour isn't really worth the expense or the extra step in the morning.
Then I came across a tip on several youtube vids to use Milk of Magnesia--that chalky stuff you take for constipation that may already be in your medicine cabinet--as a primer. I tried it out, and it really works. I dab a little on and give it a minute to dry in the morning before doing my normal makeup routine and at the end of the day I'm still matte with no acne scars showing because my makeup hasn't budged.
