  • ETA: From opadit and then Suburban Panic, a link explaining the financial crisis in flowchart form. Not perfect, possibly partisan, but still handy!


  • I find it intensely, deliciously ironic that The Smiths' "Everyday is Like Sunday" is being used in commercials for something 180 degrees from it in terms of aggression and machismo, namely NFL Network.


  • Also As Heard On TV: Sigur Ros in the background of one of the commercials for the new Prince of Persia video game.


  • The Roots are pretty much set to be the house band for Late Night with Jimmy Fallon-when-Conan-leaves. Nightly network TV exposure is always good, and it's not like some of Philly's favorite sons don't deserve a break with this level of big-ness, but it's surely gonna mean less studio and touring time. I am altogether sad.


  • Good lord, what was all this She & Him hype? All I hear is The Fabulous Baker Boys, countrified. Oh, the brainhurt.
