Well, the holidays are finally over. Phew! It's not that I don't enjoy things like getting together with family and friends. It's just all the things that go along with them like shopping, cards, etc. Now I feel like I can finally get my life back in order, the good and the not-so-much-fun-but-necessary stuff. I feel like I have put some things on hold over the last month including exercising on the Wii Fit. I really need to get back to that. Maybe later today? I always try to start things on a good foot at the beginning of a new year. I don't really have any resolutions. I am going to try to be more positive about this whole trying to conceive thing. I am going to continue to do my best in my personal and professional life. I am also going to make sure i have some time to relax and have fun. Maybe I will take a closer look at my diet, although i am pretty happy with my weight at the moment. Anyways, enough about that. Here's my quick holiday/vacation update:
- Christmas was reversed for us this year since my vacation didn't start till Christmas Eve this year. We spent Christmas Eve at Steve's parent's house. Then we headed out to Holyoke on Christmas morning to spend a few days with my family. I always like to spend as much time with them as I can since I only get out to see them about once a month. We had a nice time with both families. Good food and a lot of thoughtful presents too. My big present came from Steve: an Apple MacBook. I am loving it. I wasn't sure how easy the transition would be from my old laptop, but I am finding it pretty easy to use. It's also quite a bit faster. :)
- We came home on Saturday because Pat was up visiting from Pennsylvania and he was spending the day/night with us. We had a good time catching up. After Pat left, Steve and I were pretty lazy for a few days. We really needed some time to unwind from the holidays.
- On Tuesday night, we headed up to the condo in NH with Ham and Rebecca. We had a nice time. We ended up skiing on New Year's Eve instead of New Year's Day (as had been planned). We favored the crowds over the frigid temperatures. I am starting to feel more steady on my skiis. Steve told me that I am more like a beginning intermediate skiier as opposed to a beginner. Yay! I had been a beginner for the last 8 years (We had only gone a few times sporadically over that time period, not enough time for me to learn). Heh. We ended up hanging around the condo on New Year's Eve since we were pretty tired from skiing. It was fun playing "The Game of Things" though. Since yesterday was so cold, especially in NH, we tried to limit our time outdoors. We were glad to be home last night. Anyway, I hope that everyone has a great 2009 filled with positive changes. :)
