So I just read chapter 185. And I have no idea what is going on. At all. I read the two posts concerning the chapter, and all the comments. And my brain is still broken.
So ok, I get that the Crow people are merged akuma-thingies (which makes my heart hurt for the souls involved, as well as the akuma that got sucked into/cannibalized by that Madaro dude). And obviously the Vatican has now gone batshit - anyone else find it deeply, deeply ironic that an institution which is supposed to be most concerned with saving everybody's immortal soul doesn't give a crap about the trapped souls in the akuma? (On that note - how exactly did people know that souls were trapped in the akuma before Allen came along?) o.O
But, was that Kanda in the ruins/flashback on page 8 or Marie?
Also people were talking about the significance of the tragedy being 9 years ago - could someone explain the timeline of events to me? Someone said Mana picked Allen up 8 years ago, and then Cross picked Allen up 4 years ago? Is that right? When did Kanda enter the Dark Order? Do we know?
Things which no one likely has any answers for but I would appreciate your thoughts:
Leverrier (or however you spell his name) is evil. Clearly. So why the hell is Link still following him?!?!
Could Crown Clown purge the akuma-ness of the Crow without killing the human in them? (Do it Allen!)
Is there anyone is the world who isn't out to get Allen?
Um, ok so the tally thus far is: Leverrier is evil, Rene is evil, the Vatican sanctions evil experiments on people, God only knows where Cross is, Kanda is somehow involved in evil experimentation that resulted in tragedy 9 years ago, Allen is screwed in so many ways, it sucks to be a soul in an akuma because no one cares (except for Allen, who is screwed), something weird is going on with Tyki Mick, there's another side of the war, Bookman knows something about the other side of the war and it freaks him out...
Do we know why Cross wants Allen to talk to the fourteenth (or did he say listen?)
I hope we get solid answers soon...and that they will not be as depressing as everything else thus far.
