[You might hear the sound of a cane tapping on the floor for a little while before you see this guy coming down the hallway. He's holding a laptop bag in one hand and a red and white cane in the other, and it's obvious he's blind... and it's just as obvious he's talking to someone who's no longer walking next to him ( Read more... )

[Allen's pacing back and forth in front of the door next to his, holding something in his hand that looks like a folded piece of paper. A couple of times, he almost knocks... and then doesn't, resuming his pacing]

[Those passing through a certain hallway might hear the sound of a piano drifting out from behind a closed door. It's recognizable as Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" - but after a few minutes and a couple stumbling chords, it segues into a rather thoughtful, slow rendition of the oh-so-familiar 14th's melody.]

[in one of the libraries, Allen's managed to find a whole big shelf of Braille books, and has quite contentedly settled himself on an armchair with a pile of them nearby, one opened in his lap and reading with a slight smile on his face]

This is a really dumb idea...

[Allen's standing just outside his next-door-neighbour's door, hesitating over whether to knock or not.]

He's going to be really pissed. [smiles slightly, and finally lifts a hand to knock lightly anyway]

[in one hallway, an Allen's standing next to the wall, one hand on it, looking a bit lost. If you get closer you might notice that he's not looking around - only staring straight ahead, as if he sees nothing at all. He's listening very hard, though.]
