Really, it's not the wall he's looking at. It's the pictures on the wall. There are framed portraits lining the hallway, with various subjects... and they're moving as though alive. In fact, the one he's looking at contains

I usually end up ignoring them and moving on at that point.

That's probably the best plan. [he looks around at the other paintings in the hallway] This really is... kind of incredible, though, don't you think? I wonder how this place does any of this...

Yeah, leaves them wide open for pranks though.

[Currently in the process of grabbing Kanda's frame and tugging it away from Allen's]

[watches for a moment, amused, then helps by taking Allen's frame and placing it several hooks down on the wall too]
