[In one of the kitchens there's a gooey and oozing mess on the island counter in a cake pan. And a redhead slumped over next to it, poking the cake with a frustrated look.]

I don't get it, how come ya have to be so damned difficult to make.

[On the main counter behind her are several more failed attempts.]

[Sheepishly rubbing at the back of her head with her clean hand, though she's pretty well covered in flour.]

[Honestly the problem lies with the cookbook she's found. It's more of a joke-cookbook.]

[askdh - Jolts upright just a little, not having suspected Cross to show up in the kitchen. At least she figured on messing up this one and not theirs?]

A-ah. The cakes? No... [Looks at the oven though.] That might be, though.

[Rubs sheepishly at her head with her free hand, all covered in flour so it doesn't much matter.]

I had just thought an apology cake'd be better hand made...

[Pops up next to her as Lavis tend to do. Though being a Lavi herself, she could have seen him coming from a mile away]

Is this one of those box cakes? [Reaches over to grab a fork and poke at the things as well. He half expects it to try and eat the fork]

[sdkhg Heart attacks seem to be the way to go with Mattias today and she almost slips off the stool but manages to catch herself. Had totally been lost in her own little world there, Lavi.

And while the cake doesn't eat the fork it sort of clings to it in that tar kind of way that's still drippy.]

N-no, I was following the directions in that cookbook over there. [Gestures at it, it's more of a joke-cookbook, though.]

[Flipping through it absently, frowning a bit. Lavi wasn't much of a cook but he had read a lot of cookbooks in his life. This one just seemed a bit... off]

Is this your first time trying to make one?

'm still learning how to cook in general, figured that I'd might as well learn since I'll have to be cookin every night and maybe some other meals.

[Kanda was really just wandering about, trying to find a damn place to cook. Instead, he drops in on a red-headed girl...who looks starkly like the Idiot Rabbit, fumbling around with something odd on the stove. It looked inedible. Kanda, naturally, scowls.]

Tch. What the hell is that?

[That's because she is~ Only a bit older and obviously carrying around some extra hair. Though it's not on the stove, the counter still.

She starts a little, the tone is definitely not that of her brother, and looks at him.] 's supposed to be a cake.

[Kanda raises a brow, frowning, and in long, even strides approaches the counter and the red-haired girl.]

Well...[He stares at it for a moment. Then sighs. He looks around the kitchen. It really doesn't look like he can make himself any soba here.]

...Ah- [For once, Kanda catches himself struggling for words]...Do you know how to cook?

[She sits up from her slouched position, pretty much feeling like she's back in high-society where they judge everything so critically including posture.

And then she blinks. And smiles a little. And rubs sheepishly at her head.] Not...really? I'm still learning. And most things besides grilled cheese tends to get burnt.

[Stumbled across a newlywed.]

[A Lenalee with a head bandage on and a few plasters stops by the main counter to look down at the failed attempts, then glances over at the island.]

...What are you trying to cook?

[Oh, lord. Expect to be mothered slightly with an injury. It's like ingrained in Mattias.

In fact, when she glances at Lenalee she gets up from her stool and pats it for her to sit.]

I was...trying to bake a cake as an apology to someone.

[She smiles and waves her hands to indicate that she's fine, and doesn't sit down, not realising Mattias is going to try mothering her a little. Really, she's concentrating on trying not to look surprised at seeing a female Lavi...]

Would you like some help? I like baking, when I have the time.

[She tries not to, honestly, but it just happens. So 'Tias hesitates a bit and then rubs at her head, looking at the failures.]

I think 'm just gonna give up for now and clean up. Thanks for the offer, though. I'm...still learning. [Sheepish.]
