[There's a familiar cloak laying just outside a rather sunny courtyard - one of those courtyards that's opposite the time seeing as it's eleven at night - and out in the middle of this courtyard is an Allen laying spread eagle. Nothing's wrong with him, he's just out there enjoying the sunlight

[Crouches next to him and pokes him in the forehead. Was he sleeping? Probably not anymore]

[No, not this time. Though the poke makes Allen start and jerk away from Lavi, rolling into a crouch before he sees who it is and relaxes with a slightly relieved laugh. Even without being a vampire there's no way he could mistake his friend for any other Lavi.]

What was that for, Lavi?

Shouldn't you be- I dunno, going up in flames for taking a nap in the sun?

[Laughs a little, don't you see those blue eyes of his?

Taking that poking hand and putting it over his own chest, there's a heartbeat (beating a little rapidly from the scare) and he's warm.] Not like this.

[Well, now he does. But his first reaction was that he was going to have a barbecued exploring buddy]

[Rests his palm flat against Allen's chest]

... When did this happen?

[Oh he would have already been that way if he wandered out here as a vampire. Bit of ash near the door. Or here if he had come out at night.]

I woke up this evening like this, I don't know how...

Do you know how long it will last?

[Shakes his head, letting his own hand drop from Lavi's.]

No... I don't even remember how long it lasted for my brother.

[Grins and grabs Allen's wrists, pulling him up to a sitting position]

You know what this means, yeah?

[bloodlessscore]

[Pulled! Not like he's strong enough to resist it anymore.]

...No...? [Sob. No eating.]

You should get to enjoy all those things you couldn't when you were a vampire. Like eating your favorite foods and listening to music with the volume cranked up as high as it can go.

[He laughs.] Well, I can do the second one right now but as for the food... I'm not really hungry right now, Lavi. And...I don't think it would be a good idea to introduce solids yet.

Then how about a shake? A smoothie?

Fine, fine. [Taps him on the nose]

Let me go get a boombox, yeah.
